About S-Five Applications
All S-Five applications are
being developed with Microsoft Office XP Developers Edition (Access
2002), compatible with Windows 98 through XP.
Runtime Applications
The Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition provides license to
S-Five to redistribute the "runtime"
files necessary with those applications that we develop.
What is "runtime?" In layman's
terms, the runtime is, in short, the Access program with design features
disabled. The Package and Deployment Wizard as included in the
Office Developer Edition was meant to allow the install and use of
runtime applications on computers with no version of Access installed.
It has its place. However, if a different version of Access does
happen to be present on your machines, or if you install one later,
installation problems and conflicts among versions are frequent.
However, we use some special tools from a special company to overcome
these difficulties. Wouldn't you rather
have an application that will remain compatible and useful for years to
come?
SageKey Software To The Rescue
S-Five is proud to say that we
utilize custom Access runtime scripts from
SageKey Software to enable
trouble-free installations and operation of Access runtime applications
regardless of which version of Access may be present on your machines,
if any, and/or versions that may be later installed. For
instance, the Access runtime application mentioned below, which was
developed for the Mississippi Gaming Commission and the 30 casinos in
the State was distributed, installed perfectly, and operates perfectly
without much concern about which version of Windows or Access the 30
different casinos were running.
Featured Project of Note
Mississippi Gaming Commission Database
S-Five developed the Mississippi Gaming Commission database and the
accompanying MGC Casino Database. The Commission's Master Version
is utilized to track, analyze and report revenue and win information for
the 30 licensed casinos in the State. The abbreviated MGC copies
are utilized by the casinos to record and submit revenue data to the
Commission. The application generates over 50 financial reports
for internal use and dissemination to the public.
